Open a terminal and type:
touch /etc/resolv.conf
and hit "enter"
this will create the missing file.
Notice.
You have to be the root of the system, in order to do this.
You can login as root, at the login screen by typing "root",
in the user tab and the root pasword you gave in the installation,
at the pasword tab.
Another way to do this, is by typing at the terminal:
su
root's pasword
The second way makes you root, but only at the terminal.
After that, chek if kppp can see your modem.
A "query modem" will do this for you.
About the modem commands, a serch at your modem's vendor website,
can help. You can also go back to windows and query your modem,
print or save the "AT commands" somewere and try them on linux.
The kppp howto can help also.
