από περιέργεια άρχισα το googling για κάτι που να μοιάζει stable και
βρήκα το παρακάτω. Από ότι φαίνεται όντως δεν υπάρχει κάτι δημοφιλές
και καρά-δοκιμασμένο (ο φταίχτης πρέπει να είναι οι κατασκευαστές
δίσκων: εν τέλη μάλλον όλοι απλά αγοράζουν έναν μεγαλύτερο δίσκο). Το
παρακάτω μοιάζει stable αλλα προφανώς δεν είναι αρκετά δημοφιλές για
να αισθανθείς απόλυτα ασφαλής... test it test it then test it

This is a compressed overlay filesystem for Linux that supports both
transparent READ and WRITE operations. In other words it provides
transparent compression of your files while storing them on an
existing filesystem Since there are no other compressing filesystems
right now for Linux I wrote this thing.
