Για rescue μπορείς να μπουτάρεις τον linux που έχεις ήδη εγκαταστημένο. 
Όταν βάλεις το installation cd στο prompt δώσε

rescue  root=/dev/"some hd partition" 

Δεν ξέρω αν μπορείς να δώσεις root=/dev/"cdrom".  
Δώσε <F1> στο prompt να δεις τις options που έχεις.
