debian-sparc X problem

Mas hackepsane ton kentriko server sto lab mou (Sun Enterprise 420R pou

emfanizei ena simataki pou leei Raptor GFX, to opoio einai consistent me
orismena posts pou brika sto google groups - prepei na exei permedia 2
chipaki.

Epeidi edw kentriko campus computer security einai paranoid, mas kopsane
kateytheian to net se ayti to computer etc etc kai paralysame. (Καλά,
γιατί γράφω Greeklish? Τελος πάντων...)

Λοιπόν, για διαφόρους λόγους είπα να βάλω debian στο μηχανημα. Έβαλα
woody και ολα καλά (εννοώ nfs/nis/λοιπα πρασινα άλογα). Το πρόβλημα
έγγειται στα γραφικά. Και με KDE και με gnome 1.4 (της μάνας του και τα
δύο, και τώρα που το ξαναβλέπω: της μάνας του, αλλά τέλος πάντων, ας μην
γίνομαι χυδαίος) μετά από καμιά 10αριά δευτερόλεπτα χρήσης κολλάει (και
θέλει hard reboot!). 

Εγώ είμαι πολύ χαρούμενος με το μηχάνημα ως έχει, αλλά φοβάμαι ότι στην
προσπάθεια μου να πείσω τους λοιπούς (και δή τους not-so=technical αλλά
πιό υψηλόβαθμους) θα έχω πρόβλημα αν το μηχάνημα ανοίγει μόνο κονσόλα.
(Εγώ με το xnest η/και ssh την εχω καταβρεί, αλλά....

Μήπως έχει κανείς καμία ιδέα (έστω και κάτι του στυλ: παράτα τα, ή
μπορεί να δουλέψει... Είδα ένα post stin debian-sparc ένα ποστ ενός
τύπου ότι δουλέυει μια χαρά.

Επίσης, επισυνάπτω ορισμένα log files. Ότι άλλο μπορεί να χρειαστεί, εδώ
είμαστε.
