Peri Evaluation

Το evaluation σε μια Linux distribution (π.χ. SuSE) εξηγείται ως εξής:
 Περιλαμβάνεται μόνο το CD που χρειάζεται για να εγκατασταθεί το Linux.
Δεν περιλαμβάνονται τα υπόλοιπα CD's τα οποία περιέχουν το 1) source
κώδικα των .rpm πακέτων 2) τις εμπορικές εφαρμογές και προγράμματα.
Επίσης, δεν συμπεριλαμβάνεται το manual βιβλίο (των 300-500 σελίδων
περίπου).
 Παρόλα αυτά μια evaluation distribution είναι πλήρως λειτουργική και
χωρίς περιορισμένο χρόνο χρήσης.
