soundcard problem

Hi Everyone!
I am writing this to ask you for a problem that i have at linux5.1
The problem is that sndconfig program cannot run without error.
So when it tries to play the sound sample pop-up an error saying:
"An error was encountered running the modprobe program" and then
the program stop!!
=-= My soundcard is a SoundBlaster 16 =-=
If anyone knows something please let me know.
(Argggg.... I can't play DOOM without sound!!!!)
