Ta pswro-Penthiums min ta gelate toso, akolou8ei ena kommati apo ta FAQ's tou
RC5:
"Why are Intel and PowerPC computers so much faster than other platforms?
Integral to the mathematics of the RC5 algorithm is a ROTL function, or rotate
left. For whatever reason, the designers of both the x86 architecture and the
PowerPc architecture decided to implement this function as a single instruction.
Other CPUs, however, do not have this function and must emulate the operation by
(at the very least) two shifts and a logical or. This handicap is why non-Intel
and non-PowerPC computers run rc5 much slower than one might expect and is also
the main reason that the rc5 client is a poor benchmark to use in determining the
speed and performance of a particular CPU."
