Hello,

just seen on http://www.ens-newswire.com/ :

One Billion Computers Devouring Earth's Resources computers

TOKYO, Japan, March 8, 2004 (ENS) - Personal computers are eating
their way into the planet's resource base, and their useful lives must
be extended to lighten the burden they put on Earth's air, land, water
and human health according to a new report from the United Nations
University (UNU) on the environmental consequences of the information
technology revolution

The complete article requires subscription, and the UNU website is
unreachable now, but note the "useful lives must be extended" part:
this is exactly why we are here, isn't it?

As soon as we have managed to restore the website I'll try to contact
both ENS and UNU.

Ciao,
	Marco Fioretti
