This should now be fixed in slinky-v0.3.8. I moved the rpm binary used by
the installer to prevent it being overwritten when the stock rpm package
installs. The installer now uses the provided binary until all packages
are installed. The binary is then removed.
I've tested a 7.2 install, it worked, the machine rebooted after the
install completed. rpm's database appears to be intact and functional.
Additionally, I've now added a new function to the installer. The user is
prompted (forced, actually) to create and set a password for a non-root
user account during install.
