Miniconda needs an updates disk, regardless of version. The updates disk
changes some paths in anaconda, like forcing it to read the comps file
from the updates directory rather than the install media.
Then again, if you are already building your own install disks, there is
no reason you couldn't edit the comps file before building, and slim down
your custom distro.
The purpose of miniconda is to allow a small install in as little as 12M
of RAM, using the stock install media.
