[OLPC-Greek schools] Are there any OLPC deployments active in Greece as of 2016?

Για να λέμε την αλήθεια, τα ΧΟ ήταν από την αρχή ‘αργά’, όμως συμφωνώ, πλέον τα παιδιά έχουν πρόσβαση σε πολύ πολύ ταχύτερους υπολογιστές. Όμως, εξακολουθούν –όπως πολύ σωστά αναφέρατε- να έχουν χρησιμότητα. Πιστεύω πως το Scratch –εμάς τουλάχιστο- είναι ένα πολύτιμο λογισμικό και ευτυχώς το τρέχουν χωρίς προβλήματα.

Καλημέρα σε όλους σας.

Στο σχολείο μας συνεχίζουμε να χρησιμοποιούμε τα OLPC ως εξής:

Εκτός από τη διδασκαλία του Scratch που γίνεται με τη λογική μιας πιθανής εμπλοκής του σχολείου και σε διαγωνισμούς ρομποτικής,

τα χρησιμοποιούμε αρκετά και με το λειτουργικό Xubuntu. Στα μαθηματικά της Στ’ π.χ. και στα κεφάλαια “Λόγοι Αναλογίες” και “Συλλογή Δεδομένων” οι μαθητές κάνουν 

γραφική απεικόνιση στο calc σε όλες τις ασκήσεις.

Επίσης, πολύ χρήσιμη είναι και η εξής πρακτική: Στην αρχή της χρονιάς δίνεται σε κάθε παιδί μια SD κάρτα με φορτωμένα εκπαιδευτικά “καλούδια”: Audio books, ebooks, βιβλία οργανισμού,

εκπαιδευτικό λογισμικό, πολυμέσα.

Σίγουρα όμως, για να μην ωραιοποιούμε τα πράγματα, σίγουρα η διαδικασία δυσκολεύει γιατί οι μαθητές έχουν συνηθίσει πλέον σε πιο γρήγορους υπολογιστές.

I am sure there are OLPC XO deployments in Greek schools, actually we are still using the machines purchased by Greece 5 years ago (along with some other units we got from other donations). Three of the schools I know (2nd Kalyvia Primary, Attica, Greece, 4th Voula Primary, Attica, Greece, Agios Spyridonas Primary, Nicosia, Cyprus) are still using them extensively for Scratch Programming. Recently, Michalis Bletsas from MIT Media Lab and one of the designers of the OLPC XO was in Cyprus and he mentioned its use by our school (Agios Spyridonas) on national television.

We could follow up with more information and case studies.
