I can't find my modem

HI ! to you all,
I am a newdie and I have this problem I can't find my Microcom Inporte Home PCI V92 dialup modem in com3. I tried  three different distributions Mandrake 9.0 Knoppix 3.1 and Suse 8.1 and even in tke kppp or in control panel I can't find my modem.
to be specified com3 it's /dev/ttyS2 and I got the answer that modem it's busy I tried all other /dev.... but in the modem query I got Nothing.
