απορία για dd

Γιατί δεν μπορώ να φτιάξω ένα  image ενός μουσικού cd με το dd?
To dd δεν κοιτάει σε αρκετά χαμηλό επίπεδο τη συσκευή ώστε να μην 
ξεχωρίζει αν το cd είναι μουσικό ή data;


# dd if=/dev/cdrom of=myimage.iso
