Not really, I'm afraid.

Diving early into the 'world' of shell scripting may intimidate some
newcomers, may scare away some others, and yet it may bring out the
bright, smart, eager to learn all about their new Unix system in another
set of users.  I'm highly uninterested in exchanging emails with the
first two groups, and I'm targetting the last user group.

There's nothing funny or jokingly unserious about it either :P
