Το σημαντικό κομμάτι είναι αυτό:

    ``We have made many changes to how Apache works within
      Gentoo. Every package that is directly related to Apache
      needs to be updated and some things that worked previously
      will no longer work.''

και το απαίσιο κομμάτι είναι αυτό:

    ``Now you need to reconfigure Apache and its modules. Start
      by using etc-update or dispatch-conf to update the

      your apache configuration files won't show up in the
      updates - this is because all the configuration files have

Μετάφραση.  Ελπίζω να κρατούσες σε CVS ή Subversion τα αρχικά
configs του Gentoo, με ειδικό vendor branch για τις original
εκδόσεις του Gentoo, αλλιώς ετοιμάσου να κάνεις merge πάλι με το
χέρι.

Κι εντάξει, πες ``του πούστη, μια φορά είναι... θα το κάνω''.
Στις πόσες φορές και στα πόσα πακέτα που θα σου σκάσουν έτσι στη
μάπα, επειδή έκανες upgrade θα σου έχει ανέβει η πίεση;

Γιατί εμένα έγινε:

    - Κάθε φορά που άλλαζε έστω και το minor-minor version του
      mailman.

    - Μια φορά με το upgrade της MySQL από μια stable έκδοση σε
      άλλη stable έκδοση της MySQL

    - Μια φορά με τo PHP

    - Μια φορά με mailman, postfix και apache + όλα τα
      dependencies του apache μαζί

Αν θες ημερομηνίες και περισσότερα στοιχεία τα έχω στο ημερολόγιό
μου, αλλά νομίζω είναι περιττό να ασχοληθούμε καν με ένα
distribution στου οποίου το "μη πειραματικό branch" έχει τέτοια
ωραία χαρακτηριστικά.
