sata controller + usb storage

Καλησπέρα και καλό μήνα,
έχω ένα πρόβλημα σε slackware current. Η μητρική (abit nf7s) έχει πάνω 
τον sil3112 με 2 sata υποδοχές. Προημερών αγόρασα έναν controller με το 
3114 που έχει πάνω 4 υποδοχές και μετέφερα σε αυτόν όλους τους δίσκους 
που είχα γιατί έπαιρναν οι δίσκοι που είναι πάνω σε αυτόν τα πρώτα 
γράμματα sda,sdb,sdc... και θα έπρεπε αλλιώς να αλλάξω το lilo.
Το πρόβλημα εμφανίστηκε όταν πήγα να συνδέσω το usb stick και τον usb 
σκληρό. Στο dmesg και στα messages φαίνεται ότι το βρίσκει και του δίνει 
το sdc όνομα, όλα σωστά μέχρι εδώ. Όμως όταν πάω να τον κάνω mount δεν 
υπάρχει η συσκευή στο /dev.
