Δοκίμασε:

# cmp -l <suspect binary> <vanilla binary>

και δες αν κάποιο συνεχόμενο byte block έχει διαφορά. Πιθανόν να είναι 
filesystem corruption ή disk failure (οι ΑΤΑ δίσκοι δεν έχουν data 
checksumming όπως οι SCSI).
