Όπως έχει αναφερθεί στο παρελθόν, στη συνεδρίαση της 8ης Μαρτίου 2005, 
στην οποία το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης ενέκρινε το κείμενο του, η Κυπριακή 
Αντιπροσωπεία κατέθεσε μια γραπτή δήλωση στα πρακτικά της Συνεδρίας, την 
οποία παραθέτω στο τέλος του email.

Ομολογώ να πω ότι αισθάνομαι λίγο υπερήφανος για την Ομάδα μας, γιατί 
είμαι *βέβαιος* ότι η παρακάτω σημείωση οφείλεται σε δική μας παρέμβαση. 
Πιο συγκεκριμένα κατά την τελευταία μου επίσκεψη στις Βρυξέλλες σε 
προσωπικές συναντήσεις που είχα με τους Κύπριους Ευρωβουλευτές και την 
Μόνιμη Κυπριακή Αντιπροσωπεία στις Βρυξέλλες και σε επαφές που είχε η 
Ομάδα μας τις προηγούμενες μέρες του ταξιδιού για οργάνωση των συναντήσεων.

Ένα μεγάλο μπράβο σε όλα τα παιδιά της ομάδας που δούλεψαν για αυτό.

Statement by the Republic of Cyprus

With regard to the proposed Directive on the patentability of 
computer-implemented
inventions though the government of the Republic of Cyprus supports the 
goals laid down
therein especially the harmonization of diverse/different practices in 
the said area in the EU
member states, the improvement of transparency and strengthening legal 
certainty and clear
conditions for the protection of computer implemented inventions, 
nevertheless the proposed
Directive should offer more clarity on which inventions are patentable 
and which are not. This
is of paramount importance for individuals, organizations and 
particularly small and medium
sized enterprises active in the area of information technology and the 
development of the
domestic industry thus enhancing competitiveness and strengthening the 
research area .
