There are various news items going around claiming that X.Org and The
XFree86 Project have joined together as a single group.

This is 100% untrue.

The XFree86 Project remains as an independent organisation, both legally
and operationally, and has not even considered combining with X.Org,
let alone agreed to such a merge.
