pango installation problem

Το πρόβλημά μου είναι το εξής:

Προσπαθώ να εγκαταστήσω την Gtk+ 2.0 στο μηχάνημά μου (Slackware 8.0). 
Κατέβασα όλα τα απαραίτητα πακέτα (gtk, glib,atk,pango και τα dependencies: 
pkgtool και libraries jpeg,tiff,png). Εγκατέστησα πρώτα τα dependencies μια 
χαρά, μετά την glib και μετά atk. Για να εγκαταστήσω τώρα την gtk μου μένει 
να βάλω το pango. Το έκανα ./configure και πήγε καλά. Μετά όμως κατά το make 
πήρα το εξής μήνυμα:

Βγάζει κανείς συμπέρασμα για το τί φταίει;
Υπάρχει περίπτωση να φταίει το path όπου τα έκανα compile; (τα υπόλοιπα 
πακέτα πώς δούλεψαν τότε;) Είχα αποσυμπιέσει τα πακέτα σε ένα δικό μου 
directory (/root/programs/gtk/) γιατί δεν ήξερα πού ακριβώς έπρεπε να το 
κάνω.
