Δεν συμφωνώ απόλυτα :-)

Για το α) ίσως έχεις δίκιο, μπορεί να θέλει και --force και τότε τα
πράγματα σκουραίνουν κάπως. 

Το β) όμως, αν σιγουρευτείς πως έχεις τα libraries που θέλει το πακέτο,
τότε συνήθως δουλεύει. (το helixcode π.χ. που το έχω δοκιμάσει δουλεύει,
rpm2tgz όλα τα πακέτα που είναι για redhat και μετά installpkg και
δουλεύει μιά χαρά!)
