I realize that the forwarded posting isn't exactly on topic (i.e., it's not
relevant to X, but to TeX), but I thought this forum would be as likely as
any to have an answer (hope you don't mind). Dr. Thiel is a classical
philologist, so the metrical signs he's talking about are those used for
ananlyzing Greek and Latin, not e.g. English meter. Please respond to him
directly if you don't mind, as he's not on the Fonts list.

Subject: Fonts, again: metrical signs for LaTeX2e?

I am currently seriously approaching the idea to use LaTeX again for certain
kinds of documents. After some problems (not having much time to spent on
installing computer programmes), I have found an easy way to use ibycus4 and
the old but good Levy fonts for Greek which offer everything I am likely to
need ever -- except metrical signs.

It would probably be feasible to assemble a set of signs from appropriate
font sizes of the relevant mathematical signs of the cm fonts, making up a
LaTeX2e virtual font. But before I spend (and possibly lose) time in doing
so, given that there are TeX fonts for most everything, does anyone know if
metrical signs are available in any font I may not have recognized when
browsing the ctan archives?

Thanks for any help in advance,

Rainer Thiel
