Wu-FTPD Question

Καθότι newbie στο Linux θα κάνω και εγώ μια ερωτησούλα :

 Εγκατέστησα to wu-ftpd αλλά δεν μπορώ να μπω από άλλο μηχάνημα ως root
.....
Συνδέομαι κανονικά , δίνω σαν username root , δίνω και το pass μου αλλά
ο server
μου πετάει ένα ξερό "login incorrect" . Εχω βάλει σαν aditional group
στον root το
group ftp αλλά τίποτα πάλι ...


 Εχει κανείς κάποια ιδέα για το γίνετε λάθος ;;;;;
