  Όταν κάποιος σε διορθώνει, ψάξ' το λίγο πριν απαντήσεις. Υπάρχει και η
μικρή πιθανότητα να έκανες εσύ λάθος. Ακόμα και η Perl (που τα regular
expressions που έχει είναι γενικά υπερσύνολο αυτών του egrep - upwards
compatible δηλαδή) δες τι λέει:

$ man perlre

       In particular the following metacharacters have their
       standard egrep-ish meanings:

           \   Quote the next metacharacter
           ^   Match the beginning of the line
           .   Match any character (except newline)

  Ξανά, η τεκμηρίωση αποδεικνύεται πολύτιμος σύμμαχος:

       Conditions start with a leading *', everything after that
       character  is  passed  on to the internal egrep literally,
       except for leading and trailing whitespace.  These regular
       expressions   are  completely  compatible  to  the  normal
       egrep(1) extended regular expressions.  See also  Extended
