Linux Spectrum?
Sir Clive Sinclair plans return to the PC market

The man responsible for kickstarting the UK home computer market, Sir Clive
Sinclair, is considering designing and building a PC. His idea is for an
ultra low-cost portable. "The reason why my machine will be cheaper is that
it will use a lot less memory, a lower-cost processor, a simpler power
supply and a lower-cot operating system."
That operating system is Linux, Sinclair said: "Linux looks like a way in,
a Trojan horse. A lot of software suppliers are now supporting it. They
wouldn't do that if they didn't have a lot of confidence in it." The plan
is to build a system at about half the price of an Intel/Microsoft one. If
his plans go ahead it will take about two years to bring it to the market.
