samba password

  Γιάννη, απ' ότι θυμάμαι το Debian έχει στις ρυθμίσεις της samba εξ
ορισμού ενεργοποιημένα τα encrypted passwords. Άλλαξε το ώστε στο
smb.conf να λέει `encrypt passwords = no', σβήσε και το /etc/smbpasswd
(ή κάτι τέτοιο) το οποίο δεν θα χρειάζεται πλέον, και θα είσαι OK.

  Σου προτείνω να χρησιμοποιήσεις το IP Masquerading του Linux, το οποίο
θα επιτρέπει στο άλλο μηχάνημα να βλέπει το internet, απλά και μόνο
δηλώνοντας το linux σου ως gateway (δηλαδή δεν χρειάζονται ειδικές
ρυθμίσεις στις εφαρμογές). Φτιάξε έναν πυρήνα με υποστήριξη
Masquerading, και μετά εγκατάστησε το πακέτο ipmasq (net/extra), το
οποίο θα στο ρυθμίσει εντελώς αυτόματα.

  Πάντως και το squid είναι πολύ καλή φάση για web caching, αλλά αυτό
είναι ένα άλλο θέμα.
