QuickTime is the only open source standards-based Internet streaming
solution.

Now, in a joint effort with the Open Source community, the Apple Open Source
Streaming Server code has been updated to support Linux on Intel-based
systems. Developers can now create Linux-based streaming server products for
audio and video without making additional modifications to the source code.

The Apple Open Source Streaming Server can be downloaded free of charge from:
http://www.publicsource.apple.com/projects/streaming
