Colorize the command prompt

What I mean, maybe I did not write it correctly, is the command prompt
i.e.
[root at localhost /root]
I have looked at the various things that can be done to the prompt, but
I did not see any color.
The reason I need this is because I want it to stand out when I get a
result from a file or something!
