Ok, I will keep the config Bourne shell as is, and add simple checks like this
based on feedback I receive from users.  As always the Makefile will build on
most systems that have Lua and OpenSSL installed either in "/usr/local" or
"/usr", with a directory layout not changed from the official (unlike the
changes of the Lua library names and the path to Lua's include files in
Debian).
