[imapfilter-devel] filter mailing lists on unknown names?

Hello,

Does the archive have a search function? This may well be a FAQ but it didn't
immediately jump out at me...

Is there a way to setup a filter for mailing lists based on not knowing the list
name?

As in, just generically detect the List-ID:, Mailing-List: or other known header
and automagically move the message into a folder, creating it if it's not
present?

Sort of 'find the header, pull out the value of said header, make a folder based
on that extracted value and move the mail to it?

This would help avoid creating new filters for each and every new list.
Granted, not all lists do their headers in same fashion and the folder names
might not be as 'pleasant-looking' as some users might prefer. But for me it'd
be a godsend to have the system automatically detect "oh yeah, he's signed up to
yet-another-mailing-list" and automatically move the mail.

There aren't /that/ many different mailing list programs out there to make it
unreasonable to consider making some filters to detect and handle them.

Thanks,
-Bill Kearney
