Yes, if you don't want to build the resource files set yourself. But
that needs only to be a temporary installation in a temporary location.
You should modify your .sversionrc before installing it and comment out
your real installation, otherwise the setup would complain about an
already installed version. Then you'd have to copy all
<tmp-OOo-path>/program/resource/*.res files to your real
<OOo-path>/program/resource/ directory. After that, you may delete the
temporary OOo installation and restore the original .sversionrc file.

Not if you install the temporary installation into a different
