Linux and BJC-4000C

Hey people,

I am a new Linux user. I have installed the REDHAT 5.1 with KDE 1.0.I
have a BJC-4000 printer. When using the printer manager tool to
configure the printer, I choose the BJC-600 and BJC-4000 filter, with
option 1-Normal B&W printing.
When I print no text it shown only some sort of character dump.
If I choose option 8-Floyd-Steinburg B&W printing for better grey-scale,

I get a good printout, but the page takes a long time to print.
Is there any solution to the above problem??
